IPOH has been renowned as an international favourite spot with food being the main highlight, and when it comes to eating, locals usually know the best spot to enjoy the finest meal there is to offer.
And the newly opened Jun Chillax at Bandar Baru Medan offers just that – a unique, exquisite and fresh ambiance besides its promise of delicious yet affordable home cooked foods, done in a professional style.
Upon arriving, this café will present you with its green and peaceful Hawaiian deco and further escorted you with their melancholic oldies and classic ballads playing throughout the time you’re chatting with friends and savouring your meal.
The best part of this café is their Western and Eastern fusion food, and the signature dish that caught everyone’s attention is their delicately crafted Siamese Laksa that will transport you to some taste of tangy, spicy, sour and milky aroma of the coconut milk with some minced tuna on top.
Nasi Ulam is the one for those who still long for the authentic kampong-style food savoured in memories of a different surrounding as well as the staple Hainan’s Chicken Curry and Chicken Rice or Bread.
The active member of Perak Women for Women Society said Jun Chillax came up as the answer to the simplest idea to provide everything in total – a calm environment with selected orchid plants in the corner for the natural ambiance, Hawaiian-based 3D Wallpaper and a dimmed, romantic lighting.
“It is nearly two months since this café opened its door to the customers and I can gladly say that with its capacity of 40 patrons, Ipohites, especially elderly people, had fallen in love with this place,” she said.
But the real secret behind the success of this café came from the man behind the curtain, Ong Beng Kee who had challenged his daughter, Angela, to create a momento and contribute to the Ipohites in the best way possible.
“Angela loves meeting people, and I love hosting people, so I advised her to open up this café so that we can run a family business that can benefit others with meal to brighten up their day and comfortable surroundings to soothe their hectic lifestyle,” he said.
Beng Kee said, they even hosted local Father’s Day celebration as well as birthday celebration, besides receiving dine in orders and catering request upon booking.
